I am a male, tan and black Pit Bull Terrier mix. ***Staff thinks I will be ready by early to mid-September. My foster family says My name seems royal, it’s true! I go by Duke and I am smart as a whip. I am young but I am already mastering the art of going potty outside. Training is going well but I still need time due to my young age. I love playing with my sister and with all the different toys I have access to. I run to the door when I hear ‘let’s go potty!’. Cuddling up to my people or one of my host dogs is the best when I am ready for one of my multiple naps. My foster mom thinks my puppy kisses are the cutest! I sleep very well in my kennel at night. During the day I love hanging around the house with my sister and host dogs. *** I am not currently at the shelter because I'm growing big and strong in a foster home! You can sign up to pre-adopt me by placing a $50 choice hold. This is a non-refundable fee that does not go towards my adoption fee, but it does give you the first opportunity to adopt me. Shelter staff will contact you when I’m ready to go home with my new family! To place a choice hold, you can either come into the shelter or call us at 719-473-1741 you may wait to speak with a customer service representative or leave a voicemail. Choice holds are placed on a first-come, first-serve basis and only one choice hold can be placed on an animal.Once I am old enough to go home, I will have to be adopted at the shelter without a visit. Unfortunately, we aren’t able to visit while I’m in the foster home as it’s a lot of stress on me to be transported back and forth to the shelter for visits, which makes me more susceptible to getting sick. We want to be healthy for our new life together!

We do our best to update our adoptable pet listing as quickly as possible. However, there may be times when an animal is not at the shelter. Thank you for your understanding!
