I am a female, gray tiger and tortie Domestic Shorthair (dilute). ***Staff thinks I will be ready by late October. My foster family says, Starburst may take longer to adjust to new homes, she will do best if she can have a room of her own to start out in while getting used to you and your home. She does take a few days to warm up and settle in, but once she is there Starbust is a happy go lucky gal. She loves to be pet and will purr as long as you keep going. Starburst does seem to think that she is more petite than she is which has led to some specific bathroom needs to prevent misses. As long as she has a large, high sided or even top entry litter box this should not cause any issues. Once we figured out her special quirks our time with Starburst has been really great!*** I am not currently at the shelter because I'm helping my kittens grow big and strong in a foster home! You can sign up to pre-adopt me by placing a $50 choice hold. This is a non-refundable fee that does not go towards my adoption fee, but it does give you the first opportunity to adopt me. Shelter staff will contact you when I’m ready to go home with my new family! To place a choice hold, you can either come into the shelter or call us at 719-473-1741 you may wait to speak with a customer service representative or leave a voicemail. Choice holds are placed on a first-come, first-serve basis and only one choice hold can be placed on an animal. Once my kittens no longer need me, I will have to be adopted at the shelter without a visit. Unfortunately, we aren’t able to visit while I’m in the foster home as it’s a lot of stress on me to be transported back and forth to the shelter for visits, which makes me more susceptible to getting sick. We want to be healthy for our new life together!

We do our best to update our adoptable pet listing as quickly as possible. However, there may be times when an animal is not at the shelter. Thank you for your understanding!
