I am a female, gray and white Domestic Shorthair. I am not declawed. ***Staff thinks I will be ready by late November. My foster family says, Detective Rosa Diaz is a strong, independent little lady who is just bursting at the seams with personality. She may be the only girl in her litter, but she doesn’t take any nonsense from her brothers! She’s a sassy little spitfire and if she feels like she’s not getting enough attention, she won’t hesitate to tell you about it. Unlike her namesake, this Detective Rosa Diaz is OBSESSED with giving and receiving affection. This girl loves belly rubs, ear scritches and sitting on shoulders like a tiny little kitten shaped parrot. Rosa’s bff is her almost identical little brother Detective Jake Peraulta (affectionately, and frequently, referred to as Milk Mustache or Mustache) and can usually be found right by his side, be it napping or enjoying a rousing game of tag. Detective Rosa Diaz would be most simply described as “pure joy” and she looks forward to finding her forever family and providing them with full time employment as her personal belly scratch delivery service!*** I am not currently at the shelter because I'm growing big and strong in a foster home! You can sign up to pre-adopt me by placing a $50 choice hold. This is a non-refundable fee that does not go towards my adoption fee, but it does give you the first opportunity to adopt me. Shelter staff will contact you when I’m ready to go home with my new family! To place a choice hold, you can either come into the shelter or call us at 719-473-1741 you may wait to speak with a customer service representative or leave a voicemail. Choice holds are placed on a first-come, first-serve basis and only one choice hold can be placed on an animal. Once I am old enough to go home, I will have to be adopted at the shelter without a visit. Unfortunately, we aren’t able to visit while I’m in the foster home as it’s a lot of stress on me to be transported back and forth to the shelter for visits, which makes me more susceptible to getting sick. We want to be healthy for our new life together!

We do our best to update our adoptable pet listing as quickly as possible. However, there may be times when an animal is not at the shelter. Thank you for your understanding!
