I am a female, tortie Domestic Shorthair. ***Staff thinks I will be ready by late November. My foster family says, Gorgeous and elegant, one-year-old tortoiseshell Sugar Plum thrives in a calm and quiet environment, making her the perfect companion for someone who understands the value of patience and connection. With a little encouragement and lots of love, Sugar Plum will blossom into a loyal friend who will bring warmth and joy to your home. She loves to be pet around her neck and snuggle at night. Watching the birds and squirrels outside is exciting for her.If you're ready to open your home and heart to a sweet, easily scared (but warming up daily) cat, Sugar Plum is waiting for you. Together you will create a bond that will last a lifetime. Will you be the one to help her shine?Sugar Plum is a foster home, recovering from a broken pelvis. She has been closely monitored by vet staff and is doing great. She can get overstimulated while being pet and sometimes gets a little too playful with her claws, so at this point, may do best in a mature home or with older children. She has some tortitude!*** I am not currently at the shelter because I'm getting healthy in a foster home! You can sign up to pre-adopt me by placing a $50 choice hold. This is a non-refundable fee that does not go towards my adoption fee, but it does give you the first opportunity to adopt me. Shelter staff will contact you when I’m ready to go home with my new family! To place a choice hold, you can either come into the shelter or call us at 719-473-1741 you may wait to speak with a customer service representative or leave a voicemail. Choice holds are placed on a first-come, first-serve basis and only one choice hold can be placed on an animal. Once I am medically cleared to go home, I will have to be adopted at the shelter without a visit. Unfortunately, we aren’t able to visit while I’m in the foster home as it’s a lot of stress on me to be transported back and forth to the shelter for visits, which makes me more susceptible to getting sick. We want to be healthy for our new life together!

We do our best to update our adoptable pet listing as quickly as possible. However, there may be times when an animal is not at the shelter. Thank you for your understanding!
