Hi there, I'm Opal
I am a female, gray and white Domestic Shorthair (light blue collar). ***Staff thinks I will be ready by early January. My foster family says Opal is one of the Magnificent 7 Kittens. A litter of seven strays who arrived at the shelter needing a little TLC, which was provided by a foster family so lively and quick we knew it must have been St. Nick! Opal is a beautiful silvery gray ray of sunshine. You might even say she glows. She is the lioness of the litter, always playing the part of the big sister, dignified and reserved. Opal is alert, inquisitive, and adventurous. Opal always comes to greet us when entering the room and is very engaging and playful. Her development is progressing great and should continue with a little TLC. She has adjusted well to new surroundings, experiences, and is first to explore her environment. She is active and enjoys the mental and physical stimulation. Opal also is content being held and enjoys lounging in our laps. She delights in running, jumping, climbing, and wrestling with her littermates or pouncing on her favorite toy. She is well adjusted, confident, and affectionate. She traveled well in a carrier/vehicle and was easy to handle during vet visits. Opal’s socialization skills will continue to develop with a good family. All Opal wants for Christmas is a forever home. Please adopt her!' *** I am not currently at the shelter because I'm growing big and strong in a foster home! You can sign up to pre-adopt me by placing a $50 choice hold. This is a non-refundable fee that does not go towards my adoption fee, but it does give you the first opportunity to adopt me. Shelter staff will contact you when I’m ready to go home with my new family! To place a choice hold, you can either come into the shelter or call us at 719-473-1741 you may wait to speak with a customer service representative or leave a voicemail. Choice holds are placed on a first-come, first-serve basis and only one choice hold can be placed on an animal.
We do our best to update our adoptable pet listing as quickly as possible. However, there may be times when an animal is not at the shelter. Thank you for your understanding!
