Hi there, I'm Walnut

I am a male, black smoke Domestic Shorthair. I am not declawed. ***Staff thinks I will be ready by early April. My foster family says, Meet Walnut! She is 6 weeks old and she purrs the loudest of her litter, loves being with people, and will follow you mewing. This little black kitten is a force of nature bold, loving, and fearless! From the moment she could wobble on her tiny paws, she made it clear that she was in charge. Her energetic temperament and insatiable curiosity can make her somewhat unpredictable, especially when faced with sudden stimuli or changes. She can sometimes appear undisciplined, as she follows the whims of the moment without regard for the established schedule, which could be challenging for those who prefer routine. Walnut is a ray of sunshine and loves to be with people. She is not content to be with her siblings, she wants to be petted or on your shoulder at all times. Email Foster Mom for any questions and more photos: maryalicia.verdecchia@gmail.com *** I am not currently at the shelter because I'm growing big and strong in a foster home! You can sign up to pre-adopt me by placing a $50 choice hold. This is a non-refundable fee that does not go towards my adoption fee, but it does give you the first opportunity to adopt me. Shelter staff will contact you when I’m ready to go home with my new family! To place a choice hold, you can either come into the shelter or call us at 719-473-1741 you may wait to speak with a customer service representative or leave a voicemail. Choice holds are placed on a first-come, first-serve basis and only one choice hold can be placed on an animal.Once I am old enough to go home, I will have to be adopted at the shelter without a visit. Unfortunately, we aren’t able to visit while I’m in the foster home as it’s a lot of stress on me to be transported back and forth to the shelter for visits, which makes me more susceptible to getting sick. We want to be healthy for our new life together!
We do our best to update our adoptable pet listing as quickly as possible. However, there may be times when an animal is not at the shelter. Thank you for your understanding!
