I am a female, orange tiger Domestic Shorthair. I am not declawed. ***Staff thinks we will be ready early July. My foster family says this about me: Paloma is very shy and while she was at the shelter, she was very scared. We gave her plenty of space and time to feel safe and she has become quite the purring machine. Paloma is a wonderful mom nursing three adorable kittens and she lets us handle them with no problem. She loves her head to be scratched and, although still shy, she craves attention but on her terms. Paloma is a very special girl. She will probably do better in a mature/quiet home with someone that gives her the time and patience she needs.**Paloma will need ample time to adjust to her new home. Placing her in her own sanctuary room with food, water, bed, toys, scratching post, and litter box will help her adapt. This room should be quiet with hiding places as well as some perches. Once Paloma has acclimated to the room a slow introduction to other animals and the rest of the house can begin. She will require a lot of patience!***I am not currently at the shelter because I'm helping my kittens grow big and strong in a foster home! You can sign up to pre-adopt me by placing a $50 choice hold. This is a non-refundable fee that does not go towards my adoption fee, but it does give you the first opportunity to adopt me. Shelter staff will contact you when I’m ready to go home with my new family! To place a choice hold, you can either come into the shelter or call us at 719.302.8723 leave a message and your call will be returned in the order received. Choice holds are placed on a first-come, first-serve basis and only one choice hold can be placed on an animal. Due to restrictions surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, we will not be able to visit one another prior to adoption. Once I am old enough to go home, I will have to be adopted without a visit. It's a lot of stress on me to be transported back and forth to the shelter for visits, which makes me more susceptible to getting sick. We want to be healthy for our new life together! If you have questions, contact the foster care team at [email protected]. Choice holds must be completed following the process above.

We do our best to update our adoptable pet listing as quickly as possible. However, there may be times when an animal is not at the shelter. Thank you for your understanding!
