Get to know me

I am a neutered male, white and tan French Bulldog (adoption ambassador). Hello :::snort::: !! I’m Royce :::snort::: and I’m :::snort::: looking for my adoptive :::snort::: home :::ssnnnoooooorrrrrrrrrrtttttt:::! Bet you’ve never met a real-life house pig before! Well, you’re in luck as this pig is extra special. Royce appears to be completely deaf and also has some vision impairments but don’t this deter you! He has no idea that he is a different kind of pup. In fact, he is on the hunt for his new family! While he is a year old, Royce still acts like a young puppy. He has lots of energy and finds himself getting into mischief if left to his own devices. His foster parents have been working with him on crate training combined with mental stimulation so that he remains accustomed to the crate and also tires him out a little. He is not the type to be left free-roaming when alone as he does have destructive tendencies. He is quite humorous and keeps his foster family laughing with his antics. Whether it’s his zoomies, (un)gracefully climbing onto the toilet lid, or running around with a plastic cat bell ball, you will never be bored! He could use some help learning good manners and there are some local training facilities that would love to help Royce and his new family on this journey of learning. As goofy and loveable as Royce is, he is not for the beginner pet owner. Anyone who is familiar with Frenchies or Bulldogs know they come with their own quirks and this piglet is no exception. Because of his visual impairments, he often misreads the body language and cues given to him by other dogs and in turn, can be quite pushy. Nearly all of his interactions indicate his intent to play however, if he is not respecting the space or signals of other dogs, he could find himself in some hot water. Additionally, Royce has displayed some significant food possession in his foster home, especially if there is something he perceives as high value. This has resulted in a few fights with the resident dogs and now is being firmly managed by his foster family to avoid future issues. In his foster home, he lived with dogs (large and small) cats foster kittens and a toddler. Because of his energy level, he would do best with older children who don’t get knocked over as easy. Royce does well with riding in the car, walking on a leash, and appears to be housebroken. His foster family says he is as sweet and loving. He very much enjoys being around his people, looking for cuddles and belly scratches. He becomes attached quite easily and is as loyal as can be.Please contact Royce’s foster parents, Allison and Joshua, at waldvogel0724@gmail.com to inquire about Royce or set up a visit. Please allow up to 24 hours for Allison and Joshua to respond.
